Mark Making, Drawing and Mono Printing
£150 for all six sessions
About this Workshop:
Have you always wanted to draw but not sure where to start? Would you like to improve your drawing skills with professional guidance? Would you like to create your own pictures and greetings cards? Then this is the course for you.
Over the six weeks we will cover mark making skills and mono printing techniques. We will start with developing drawing skills by looking at materials and techniques to make marks, perspective, scale, tone, shape and building up drawings from scratch, drawing from life and from other drawings, developing a sketch book and correcting weaknesses in technique. We move on to using mono-printing techniques to transfer drawings wall mounts and create greetings cards.
Mono-printing is a straightforward method of printing where the ink is applied to the laminate by roller, a drawing is made on a smooth, non porous surface using oil paint or printing ink. A hand-roller is then used to smooth out the ink - oil paint before transferring the drawing to paper by using a roller. The paper is then peeled of to revile the art work.
Our tutor John has taught on higher education design courses in colleges in and around Sheffield for a number of years and is experienced in guiding individual students to achieve their individually defined aims. He has both a vast teaching experience and portfolio of drawing and design work. He offers informed learning sessions in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
